In today’s post, we’ll do a quick recap of how the 2023 Circa Million V shook out. We’ll dive into all of the details as to how this iconic Circa Football contest came down to the last Sunday Night Football game of the season for the second year in a row! Let’s get into it!

An AFC East Rivalry Game to Win Circa Million Contest

It wouldn’t be the Circa Million without a large dollop of drama, and last year’s contest did not disappoint in that regard. Matt Ste. Marie was clinging to a half-point lead over Ryan Lown when the Bills traveled to Miami to take on the Dolphins for Sunday Night Football. Ste. Marie needed Buffalo to cover the -3 point spread to take home the grand prize.

Ste. Marie must’ve had heartburn right out of the gate, especially when De’Von Achane scampered 25 yards to give Miami an early 7-0 lead. However, Josh Allen found Trent Sherfield from 6 yards out just 4 minutes later to knot the game at 7 all. Just when St. Marie was starting to feel better, Tua Tagovailoa hooked up with Tyreek Hill for a 3-yard TD before halftime.

A scoreless third quarter probably meant that Ste. Marie and Lown were both pacing endlessly. That’s when the Bills cooked up a little special teams magic, as Deonte Harty returned a punt 96 yards for a score to tie the game back up at 14 apiece. Can you imagine how much these 2 contest players were sweating with a million bucks on the line?
Thankfully for Ste. Marie, Josh Allen gave the Bills their first lead of the game with a little over 7 minutes to go in the game. He hit Dawson Knox in the end zone to give Buffalo (and Ste. Marie) a one-score cushion. That being said, the game and the contest were far from over.

Tagovailoa ran the two-minute drill and got the Fish down to the Bills 40-yard line after a couple of short completions and a pass interference penalty. That’s when Taylor Rapp sealed the game for Buffalo and the Circa Million V title for St. Marie by picking off a pass with 1:13 to go!

Matt Ste. Marie Enjoys “Moment of a Lifetime”

St. Marie enjoyed a lengthy celebration at Circa Sportsbook as the game finally unfolded! Just how unpredictable was his victory in the Circa Million

Both he and 2nd place winner Ryan Lown (both Winners Circle Proxy clients) were bounced out of Circa’s other contest, Circa Survivor, just a few weeks into the season. That’s a great real-life example of why it pays to enter both contests!

Matt Ste. Marie took home the grand prize of a million bucks by winning almost 70% of his Circa Million selections. However, the ride was anything but smooth! The 39-year-old from Minneapolis stumbled to a 1-4 record in Week 17 of the NFL season to trim his lead down to only half a point heading into the final week.

Thankfully, Josh Allen and the Bills got the job done for him to cap off an unbelievable run for Ste. Marie. Lown still took home half a million bucks for finishing in 2nd place, so it was a solid payday for him as well.

All in all, 14 Winners Circle Proxy clients took home payout checks in the Circa Million V. We’re super proud of each of these folks and hope they’ll all be back next year to win more cash!

Don’t Forget About Our Circa Contest Quarterly Winners

Here is another thing we truly love about the Circa Million: it’s not a winner-take-all contest! The Top 100 contestants get paid a nice chunk of change, and Circa rewards folks with a fat payday each quarter as well. This is just another reason why Circa is the best spot in the world to compete in pro football handicapping contests!

Last season, another Winners Circle Proxy client enjoyed a substantial payday. MAYBACH-1 lit up the scoreboard during the 2nd quarter of the 2023 season by going 21-4 with his Circa Million selections. That brought him home a nice $150,000 check!

WHALES BET -2 also did quite well during the 2nd quarter. He went 20-4-1 to finish in a tie for 2nd place and a check for $50,000. Nine Winners Circle Proxy clients took home quarterly prizes! Not too shabby!!!
