Circa Sports Circa Million 2022 Recap

Seasoned handicappers and NFL contest players often refer to Circa as the Mecca of Sports and it’s easy to see why. Derek Stevens and Jeff Benson prove each year with the Circa Million that they are the experts in running a season-long football contest.


In this post, we’ll quickly recap how the 2022 Circa Million IV panned out. As you might expect, the results hung in the balance until the final game of the NFL regular season. Find out how CHIEF-3, a Winners Circle Proxy client, won the whole enchilada and took home a million bucks for his efforts.

Don’t Call it a Comeback!

If you think it was a cakewalk to victory for CHIEF-3, think again! Though he stayed within striking distance of the lead for the last few weeks, CHIEF-3 was in a tie for 8th place after Week 16 with an overall record of 51-25-4. 

It’s wild to think that the overall winner had to move up 7 slots over the last 2 weeks of the season! Heading into Week 17, only a couple of games separated first place from a tie for tenth. This just goes to show that anything can happen in the Circa Million!

It All Came Down to Lions vs. Packers on SNF

Heading into the last week of the regular season, Enut34-1 and Look Ma No Hands-1 were tied at the top of the leaderboard with 58.5 points. CHIEF-3, GOING DEEP-3, and KING BRUTUS-1 weren’t too far behind with 57.5 points.

After all of the afternoon results were in, several contestants were still in the thick of things. With the Circa Million IV hanging in the balance, folks were sweating who would cover the spread between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers. 

CHIEF-3 had the Lions at +4.5 in his pocket while Enut34-1 backed the Pack at -4.5. What better way to cap off an iconic contest than with a good old-fashioned NFC North rivalry?

Both handicappers had to be on the brink of heart palpitations at halftime, as Green Bay led by only 3 points. Jamal Williams gave Detroit their first lead of the game with a 1-yard touchdown run about halfway through the third quarter. 

However, future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers answered quickly with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Allen Lazard. Heading into the final stanza, the Pack led by only 3.

Detroit Seals the Comeback with Pick by Kerby Joseph

Ever since Rodgers took over as starting QB for Green Bay, the Packers have been tough to beat at home with a 4th quarter lead. On this night, however, Dan Campbell and company simply would not be denied. 

Williams plunged into the endzone with a little under 6 minutes remaining to put Detroit up for good. Rodgers tried his best to mount a comeback, but Kerby Joseph had other ideas. 

The rookie safety intercepted Rodgers to seal the deal for the Lions. That sent CHIEF-3 home a million bucks richer!
